(El Centro City Council appoints new Deputy Police Chief)....The vote this week was unanimous.

Rene McNish was named as El Centro's Deputy Police Chief. According to the resolution approving the appointment, it is retroactive to January 1 of this year and the appointment runs through December 31, 2028. The base salary for the position begins this month at $14,833 per month. McNish began his law enforcement career in 2004 with the Hemet Police Department. He was hired by the El Centro Police Department in 2023 as a police commander.
