(Residents invited to participate)....El Centro Library is launching a new Imperial Valley Community Archive.

The purpose is to preerve local history. The Library is inviting residents to help preserve the stories, photographs and keepsakes that tell the history of Imperial Valley through a new Imperial Valley Community Archive.The program is now open and the Library is accepting submissions through September 12. Selected artifacts will be displayed in the Library's Community room from September 14 through September 14 during regular business hours. Library staff will photograph or scan items brought to the Library and record the history behind the items. Items will be returned to the owners immediately after documentation.
