(Restairant to be rebuilt)....After 30 years in business, Denny's burned down in Calexico.

After months of rumors and speculation, a new Denny's is being constructed. The Calexico Denny's had been one of the most popular restaurants in Calexico After it burned, owner Alex Campillo would not give a concrete answer when asked if he would rebuild. So began rumors and speculation. That is now all over. Campillo said this week, a new Denny's would be constructed at the site of the old Denny's. Campillo said he was not only rebuilding, but the new restaurant would be bigger and better than the last one. Debris at the site is already being cleared. Construction will be conducted in phases. Campillo he anticipates his new Denny's should open in 2027.
