A suspect has been arrested in connection with a June 2026 murder.

On June 1, 2026, a deceased female was found in the 11-700 block of S. Adams Avenue in Yuma. During the investigation, the female was identified as a 15-year-old from San Luis, Arizona, who had been reported missing. Investigators were able to identify a person of interest in the girl's death. On Thursday, August 13, Yuma County Sheriff's deputies along with U.S. Marshalls Service and U.S. Border patrol agents arrested Mark Alan Spadt, 52, of Yuma. Spadt was booked into Yuma County Detention center on charges of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Custodial Interference, and Evidence Tampering.
