An El Centro apartment complex was heavily damaged in a Sunday afternoon fire.

El Centro Fire Department responded to the report of the fire at the apartment complex in the 1500 block of Euclid Avenue. Residents of the complex were evacuated and firefighters quickly attacked the blaze. Damage to the building was extensive. The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced residents. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
