(Update on the Thorn Fire)...The update was released Saturday evening.

Cal Fire says the Thorn Fire began Wednesday morning. It began near Live Oaks Springs. At one time the fire jumped Interstate 8, forcing the closure of all traffic lanes. By Friday lanes were open on the Interstate, one lane in each direction. In an update released Saturday evening Cal Fire officials said all closed roads were open and all evacuations had been lifted. The fire is 85% contained and has burned 1,234 acres. Four structures have been destroyed by the fire, but no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
