(Monday morning collision)...It was reported at 6:41 Monday morning.

The California Highway Patrol says the collision occurred on Interstate 8 and Devils Canyon 2. It involved an Acura and an SUV. Traffic became backed up almost immediately following the collision. The CHP says the incident occurred on Westbound Interstate 8 after one of the vehicles hit the bridge Attenuator. The other vehicle crashed right after that. Occupants of the vehicles said they were not injured, but an ambulance was called as a precaution. Traffic was cleared at just after 8 am. The Highway Patrol says the incident remains under investigation.
