The El Centro City Council meets Tuesday.
The meeting convenes at 6:00 p.m. at El Centro City Hall. The council will issue a proclamation declaring July as Parks and Recreation Month and then hear a presentation from the Rotary Club of El Centro about adopting the city lot at 8th and Vine to develop a park. The proposed Rotary Park would include large event space for pop-up events and pilot projects. Colorful trees and existing landscaping would be art of the plan. The park would also provide the potential for community gardening. The council is expected to take action on the plans and specifications for the Gillett Road Rehabilitation Project. The council could also take action on an extension of the agreement with Catholic Charities for the Working Hands Development Program.
