(CHP going into Holiday Enforcement Period)....It starts at 6 pm Thursday evening and continues until 11:59 July 5th.

All officers possible will be patrolling the roadways throughout the state. Highway Patrol says the focus will be on speed. The majority of vehicle collisions are caused by speeding motorists. Drivers are encouraged to slow down. The CHP will also be on the look-out for DUI's, as well as all other violations. Motorists are encouraged to drive sober, and drive at the posted speed limit.
