The Imperial County Registrar of Voters has issued another update on Tuesdays Primary Election.
As of 5:00 p.m. Thursday, 14,387 ballots have been processed. That's a 15.16% turnout so far. In the race for Imperial County Superior Court Seat 1 Ben Salorio has 7,174 votes, that's 53.16% to Veronica Henderson's 6,321 or 46.84% of the votes tallied.
County Board of Supervisors Division 1 shows Enrique Alvarado with 1,253 votes, Jesus Eduardio Escobar has 688 votes and Joong Kim 603. Alvarado's total is 49.25 %.
County Board of Supervisors Division5 has incumbent John Hawk lading with 1.081 votes. Patricia Lizarraga has 729 votes and Lorena Minor-Montes587. Hawk's total so far is 45.1% of the votes counted.
IID Division 1 has Alex Cardenas with a comfortable lead with 1,751 votes to 906 for Carlos Duran.
IID Division 5 shows incumbent Karin Eugenio leading Eric Rodriguez 1,772 votes to 1200.
In the County Assessor race incumbent Robert Menviielle has 5,152 votes to Ricardo Avila's 6,553.
In the Assembly District 36 race Jeff Gonzales has 22,001 or 46.5% of the votes. Ida Obeso-Martinez has 11,294 votes, that's 23.9%. Oscar Ortiz has 9,850 votes and Tomas Oliva has 4,199 votes.
State Senator Steve Padilla has a commanding lead in his race.
U.S. Representative Dr. Raul Ruiz also has a commanding lead in the race to retain his seat.
Another update is expected by 5:00 p.m. Friday.
In races where no one candidate has 50% plus 1 vote the top two candidates will face off in November.
