(Brawley Police to set-up a DUI Checkpoint)....It will be held at the start of the Memorial Day Weekend.
The Brawley Department says the Driving Under The Influence Checkpoint will be held Friday from 8 pm to 12 mid-night. It will be set-up at an undisclosed location. They say DUI locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving related crashes. They say the primary purpose of the checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road. The public is remined impaired driving is not only from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over the counter drugs may interfere with driving. They say while medicinal and recreation marijuana use is legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is not.
