The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors has approved a plan that will lower your summer electric bills.
At their Tuesday meeting, the board approved a plan to allocate approximately $48.4 million in summer bill credits to customers. The bill credits are funded by lower-than-expected costs in 2025, driven by cooler temperatures, reduced customer demand, and decreased fuel and purchased power expenses. Under the approved plan, credits of about 12 percent will be applied from June through September on customer bills. IID Board Chair Karin Eugenio said, " When costs come in lower than expected, we believe those savings should be returned to the people we serve. This plan provides relief when our customers need it most."
