A broken water main flooded several Yuma streets Saturday.
At about 3:00 a.m. Saturday emergency crews responded to reports of a car submerged in a flooded area near W. 24th Street and S. Avenue B. Arriving crews found significant flooding near 23rd Street and two vehicles stuck in the flooded streets. One person had stayed in their car and had to b assisted in getting out of th vehicle. City of Yuma Water Department personnel found the flood caused by a major water line break and even after the water had been sut off, water was not draining properly. Several roads were closed and barricades erected. Shortly after the initial response, a driver bypassed the road closure and became trapped in the sinkhole. The driver had to be rescued.
