A three-vehicle collision Monday night took the life of a motorcycle rider.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 9:35 p.m. Monday on State Route 98 west of Interstate 8. The CHP says a Toyota SUV was westbound on 98, traveled into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a BMW motorcycle travelling east. The motorcycle rider was ejected from the vehicle into the path of a second westbound car. The motorcycle rider died at the scene. Both other drivers sustained minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
