A woman died in an early morning accident.

Shor6tly after midnight Monday California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a traffic accident on eastbound Interstate 8 near Westside Road. A pick-up truck ran off the highway and rolled over. The driver of the pick-up, a 68-year-old woman, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released. Cause of the accident remains under investigation.
