A truck driver trapped in the wreckage of his big rig was rescued by Yuma firefighters.

At about 8:00 a.m. Monday, Yuma Fire Department responded to a semi-truck rollover on eastbound Interstate 8. The big rig was extensively damaged and the driver was trapped inside the wreckage. It took firefighters several hours as they performed a technical rescue to extricate the victim. Once freed and stabilized, the driver was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital for treatment.
