(El Centro California Highway Patrol getting ready to move)....They are expected to move into their new headquarters this month.

They will be closing the Highway 86 building and opening the Wake Avenue office. The CHP says they are looking for senior volunteers to help man the fort. They are actively recruiting local residents 55 years of age and older. It is for their senior volunteer program. The Program integrates community experience into the department's daily operations, providing vital support to uniformed officers and the public at the expanded facility. It offers a wide range of responsibilities tailored to various skill sets. Positions include staffing the front desk, answering phones and assisting citizens with inquiries, teaching senior driver safety classes, youth outreach with safety presentations at local schools and field support.
