(It was a busy weekend for the IV Humane Society).....Devon Apodaca commented on Social Media.

Apodaca is in charge of the Imperial Valley Humane Society. He says on Thursday, he and his team were called by the Brawley Animal Control Officer. They had a serious situation. Apodaca says he and his staff went to a home in Brawley and helped Animal Control remove 56 dogs from the single home. Friday some Humane Society staff went to the home with the Brawley ACO to make sure they had gotten all the animals. They found they had not. When the arrived at the house 6 additional dogs came out of hiding. They had 62 dogs from one home. They rescue another 4 dogs on Saturday in a separate rescue. They had 66 dogs at the already over-crowded El Centro Shelter. Thanks to volunteers they were able to provide vaccinations, parasite control for ticks and fleas and provide them with a clean space with beds and blankets. A couple of approved partners stepped up and took the dogs , to find them new homes. Apodaca said there have been some already adopted. He thanks everyone who came forward with donations and volunteered to help in the weekend rescue.
