(IID Board approves District's Deficit Irrigation program)... The approval actually continues the program.

The action came at this week's Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors meeting. They said advancing the program for 2026 reinforces ongoing efforts to protect Lake Mead and the Colorado River System. Now in its third year, the program continues to yield reliable, measurable conservation when participating growers voluntarily refrain from irrigating select cops on a temporary basis, allowing the water to remain in Lake Mead, the nation's largest reservoir.
