A pick-up truck flew off the 4th Avenue Bridge Friday night.

The accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. when it was reported that a full-size pick-up truck had driven off the bridge that crosses the Colorado River and is the boundary line between Arizona and California. The pick-up was located partially submerged in the river. A search was begun for the driver of the truck. He was located about 100 yards downstream from the wreckage.  Yuma Fire Department deployed a rescue boat and a jet ski to recover the man. He was transported to Onvida Hospital for treatment. The patient's condition was not released.  Yuma Fire was assisted by Yuma Police, U.S. Border Patrol and the California Highway Patrol. The accident remains under investigation.
