(First meeting of the New Year)....County Board of Supervisors to hold their first meeting of the year Tuesday.

The meeting convenes at 8:30 in the morning. The meeting will begin with a resolution honoring Kaye Valiquette. She will be recognized on her retirement after 36 years of service to the Imperial County and Imperial County Public Health Department The Board will also recognize the Holtville High School Football Team for winning an IVL Championship. They will take public comments on issues on the Closed session agenda. They will then go onto what is expected to be a long closed session. Afternoon session begins at 1 pm. The afternoon session begins with a reorganization. They will elect a new Chairman of the Board. They will elect a new Vice Chairman of the Board. There will be remarks from the outgoing chairman and remarks from the outgoing vice chairman of the Board, followed by comments from the rest of the Board. On the action agenda the board will hear the annual school report for 2025-2026. There will be a presentation from Southern Airways Express, a bidder for the Imperial County Essential Air Service Program. They will consider a resolution to hire a new Human Resources Director and Risk Management.
