(Federal Court lifts the ban on the ban)....At least temporarily. 12 members of Congress filed litigation on a Presidential Ban.
The Presidential policy blocked Members of Congre from unannounced oversight visits to federal immigration detention facilities. One of the Congress Members filing the litigation was Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz. He says the recent federal court decision restores Congress's ability to conduct real-time oversight of how the US Department of Homeland Security and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detain individuals, including US Citizens, and spend billions in taxpayer dollars, while the case continues. The Presidential policy imposed a seven-day waiting period and barred access to certain field offices, in violation of a longstanding federal law that guarantees congressional oversight.
