The Central Spartans football season has been extended.

The Spartans have advanced to the CIF-San Diego Section Division 3 Championship game. The Spartans beat the Centurions of University City High School 44 - 42 at Cal ones Field in El Centro. The Friday night semi-final game was a classic with both teams exchanging scores throughout the night. The Spartan defense stopped a last minute drive by the Centurions to preserve the win. Senior running back Matthew Lizaola, running the wildcat-formation offense, carried the ball 33 times for over 250 yards. Lizaola scored 5 touchdowns and added three 2 point conversions.

The number one seed Spartans will meet the Christian High School Patriots on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Southwestern College. The Patriots, a number 6 seed, beat second seeded Army-Navy 20 - 17 on Friday night. The championship game will be broadcast live on KXO AM1230.

The Palo Verde Valley Yellowjackets season ended Saturday with a 24 - 12 loss to Maranatha Christian.
