The 14th Annual Environmental Health Leadership Summit was recently completed.

The Summit, hosted by Comite Civico del Valle, was held November 19 and 20, 2025, in El Centro. Residents, community leaders, researchers, regional agencies, elected officials, youth advocates and partner organizations met in the two-day summit for workshops, plenaries, and collaborative sessions addressing issues relative to environmental justice. Topics on the program included air quality monitoring, community resilience, Salton Sea health impacts, zero emission transportation and community benefits agreements. Attendees heard from experts on environmental health, regional air quality and local planning and sustainability efforts. Luis Olmeda, Executive Director of Comite Civic del Valle, said, " Our mission is to make sure communities in the Imperial and Coachella Valleys are not only heard but are shaping the futures of our region with the dignity, data, and tools needed to drive long-term change".
