Six Imperial Valley varsity football teams are in the C.I.F. - San Diego Section Playoffs.

The Holtville Vikings, Imperial Valley League champion with a 9 - 1 overall record and 4 - 0 in IVL play, are the number 11 seed in Division I. They will hit the road and head to the coast to meet the Oceanside Pirates. Oceanside has a 6 - 4 record and are 4 - 0 in Avocado East League play.

The Imperial Tigers, IVL runner-ups, with a 9 - 1 record, will be at home Friday night to meet the San Diego High Cavers. The Cavers are 5 - 5 on the season and 1 - 4 in the Eastern League. Imperial is the number 6 seed in Division II and San Diego High is seeded number 11.

In Division III, the Central Spartans are seeded Number 1.The Spartans ended the season with an 8 - 2 record and 2 - 2 in IVL play. They have a first round bye.                               The Brawley Wildcats ended the season with a 1 - 3 IVL record and 2 - 8 overall. They are seeded #11 in Division III and will travel to take on the Christian Patriots on Friday. Christian is 3 - 7 overall and 1 and 3 in Eastern League play.

Two local teams are in the Division V-AA playoffs. Palo Verde Valley won the Desert League championship with a 3 - 0 record and 6 - 4 overall. The Yellowjackets will host O'Farrell Charter. The Falcons were 4 - 6 overall and 3 - 3 in conference play. Caliparia beat O'Farrell Charter on September 12, 32 to 28. The Southwest Eagles also beat the Falcons, 8 - 0, on September 19. The Calipatria Hornets ended the year 4 and 5 and 0 and 3 in Desert League play. They are the number 4 seed in Division V-AA and will host the Clairmont Chieftains. Clairmont was 0 - 4 in league play and 1 - 9 overall. 

All games are scheduled for Friday night, November 7, with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
