A special community event dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness is scheduled for Friday.

The Imperial Valley health Care District's Pioneers Memorial Hospital will host the event at the hospital's auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. The event is free and open to everyone. The Strike Out Breast Cancer Awareness event will offer free mammogram scheduling, physician consultation, and educational resources. Community organizations are encouraged to participate and help spread awareness of this health initiative. Attendees are asked to wear pink in solidarity with breast cancer patients and survivors.
