(Health Department urges flu vaccinations)....Imperial County Public Health is encouraging flu shots.
They are recommended for everyone six months and older. The Flu Vaccination Campaign kicked off recently. The Health Department held a clinic at a recent Imperial Valley College Health Fair. Flu shots were offered to everyone participating, students and instructors. Public Health Officer Doctor Stephen Munday says the Health Department strongly encourages all individuals who are eligible to get their flu vaccine early to help protect themselves and their loved one, especially with the holidays approaching. He says the holidays is a time when flu activity typically increases due to more frequent gatherings. The Health Department is offering flu shots by appointment or on a walk-in basis, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The cost of the flu vaccine is $2. The Health Department will also be offering flu vaccines at various locations around the county. The Centers for disease Control and Prevention says the last flu season was the most severe since 2017- 2018
