(County Board of Supervisors appoint a new vice chair)....It happened at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

District One Supervisor Jesus Escobar had been the Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Tuesday Escobar decided to step down from those duties. He cited a lawsuit filed against the county by Blanca Acosta, the former Clerk of The Board. Escobar is named in that lawsuit. The Board chose Supervisor Peggy Price to fill the vacant vice chair position. That puts Price in the rotation to succeed Supervisor John Hawke when his term as Chairman of the Board ends. The Acosta lawsuit accuses the County of wrongful termination and accuses Escobar of workplace misconduct and sexual harassment.
