The Imperial County Board of Supervisors have proclaimed October 5 - 11, 2025 as Fire Prevention Week.

The proclamation highlights the National Fire Protection Association's theme: " Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home." The campaign this year reminds everyone to Buy, Charge, and Recycle lithium-ion batteries safely to help prevent fires. A number of Imperial Valley fire departments will hold open houses and special events to mark the week.
