(El Centro City Council approves demolition project).....It was at the meeting this week.

The City Council agreed the Public Works Department could open the bidding process.. The pre-bid conference will be held October 7. Bids will open on October 23rd and remain open for 180 days. The bids will be for the demolition of the Valley Center Point Plaza on North Imperial Avenue. The Plaza at one time housed Mervyns, Miller's Outpost, Kaybe Toys, Payless and Sears. The project will be to clear all the buildings, except the old Sears building. Imagine School is located in that building, as was the temporary City Library.
