Students in the Southwest High School's Career Technical Education: Community Health Worker students are raising awareness about suicide prevention.

The week of September 8 - 12, 2025, is Suicide Prevention Week and the students will host a series of interactive activities during lunch to connect their peers with important information and strategies for supporting mental health and preventing suicide. The theme of the week is " You are Not Alone - We Soar Together.". Activities includ

Music as a Coping Strategy.

According to SWHS teacher Jackie Valdez, " Our students re committed to reducing stigma around mental health and helping their personnel know they are never alone. By combining education, creativity, and compassion, they are promoting awareness and fostering a stronger, more connected school community".
