The Brawley City Council took action on several items Tuesday.
The Council approved the purchase of a crack fill machine for the Public Works Department. With this equipment, the city will be able to handle larger-scale crack sealing projects in-house.
The council also awarded the B Street Improvement Project to Rove Engineering. Work will take place on North Palm Avenue to North Eastern Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in mid-October 2025 with completion expected by February 2026.
The council also approved the first reading of two ordinances. One would regulate the unauthorized use of shopping carts, aimed at reducing blight. The other restricts camping and the storage of personal property in public spaces. According to the city, the ordinances are to support the city's ongoing commitment to maintaining public spaces for the benefit of all residents.
