(Remembering those lost on 9/11).....September 11, 2001 was the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York.
This Saturday we remember those who gave all to rescue as many as possible before the twin towers collapsed. The day starts with the Muck March. It starts at 6 am at the VFW Hall in Imperial and ends at the American Legion Hall in El Centro. Those who complete the 8 mile Ruck March will earn a patch at the finish line Those who complete the march can be met at the American Legion between 8:30 and 9 am to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11. The annual 9/11 memorial stair climb will at the Fairgrounds at 6 pm September 6th. Volunteers will pay tribute by climbing an equivalent of 110 stories. The Stair Climb takes place at the Grandstand. Those who cannot climb the stairs are more than welcome to walk around the track instead.
