Calexico Police are investigating an attempted child abduction.

At about 8:36 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 800 block of Pierce Avenue, near Rodriguez Park, after receiving a report of the attempted abduction. According to police, a man driving a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck approached a 14-year-old boy and attempted to lure him into the truck by telling the boy that he was sent by his mother. The young boy, realizing the situation, did not get in the truck. The suspect then drove south on Pierce Avenue where he stopped and picked up an adult man that was waiting on the corner of Pierce Avenue and Lincoln Street. The pickup was last seen traveling westbound on Lincoln. 

Calexico Police are continuing their investigation and will be reviewing surveillance video from nearby residences. Police are asking that any one with any information contact the Calexico Police Department.
