(CBP Officers arrested for allowing drugs to enter the US through their inspection lanes.)....Officers Jesse Clark Garcia and Diego Bonillo have pleaded guilty to the charges.
The two were caught conspiring with members of a Mexican-based poly drug trafficking organization to allow drug laden vehicles to enter the US free from inspection. Garcia worked at the Tecate port. Bonillo worked at the Otay Mesa port. They would communicate through code as to which lane and at what time they would be assigned. Garcia will be sentenced on September 26. Bonillo sentencing is set for November 7. Both face a maximum of life in prison with a minimum of 10 years mandatory.
