(Imperial County Memorial Stair Climb)....The yearly event is rapidly approaching.

The stair climb is held at the Grandstand at the Fairgrounds. It commemorates the heroes of the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001. Participants climb the equivalent of 110 stories in the name of a fallen first responder, whether it be a fireman, a police officer, or medical personnel. Those who cannot navigate the stairs can participate in a walk around the track in front of the grandstands. The event draws participants and onlookers from across the region, including Yuma, Coachella Valley, San Diego and beyond. The event includes bagpipes, fireworks, music, food vendors, and utility vehicles. Everyone is encouraged to attend and remember the fallen heroes.
