(The Brawley City Council met this week)....During the meeting the Council unanimously approved a closeout of a Community Development Block Grant.
The CDBG was for the rehabilitation of the Lion's Center Pool. Brawley Mayor Gil Rebollar has announced the pool will not be open this summer, as anticipated. They expect it will be open to the public next summer. The council also agreed o a proposal to resurface the floor at the Lions Center Gymnasium and make improvements to the Teen Center at a cost of $192,000. The Council agreed to authorize the purchase of surplus firearms by eligible Brawley Police Officers. They also adopted a resolution to accept a California Highway Patrol Cannabis Grant for $105,2411 for impaired driving education and training.
