A Strike Team from El Centro Fire Department has been sent north.

The team includes a Type 6 engine, three personnel and a strike team leader trainee. The team left El Centro late Tuesday afternoon and are headed to the Orleans Complex Fire in Del Norte and Siskiyou Counties. The fire started Wednesday, July 9, and so far has consumed over 8,200 acres. As of late Tuesday the fire was zero percent contained. Two fires, Butler and Red Fire make up the Orleans Complex Fire. The National Forest Service is the lead agency in the firefighting efforts.
