(Cocaine seized late last week)....Customs and Border Protection says a pick-up had entered the San Luis Port at just after 7 am.
It was driven by a 26 year old US Citizen. The vehicle was in the SENTRI lane. The CBP officer noticed anomalies to the spare tire in the bed of the pick-up. The vehicle and driver were sent to the secondary inspection area. A K-9 alerted to the vehicle and a search was initiated. Officers found 50 packages hidden throughout the vehicle including in the spare tire. The packages tested positive for cocaine, with an estimated street value of over $1.3 million. The driver was arrested. The vehicle and narcotics were seized.
