The City of El Centro has named Police Chief Robert Sawyer as acting city manager.

Chief Sawyer will assume the role while the city continues the search for a permanent replacement. Sawyer takes over following the departure of Interim City manager Daniel Paramo on May 28. Sawyer is an El Centro native with more than 27 years of experience in public safety. He served a Chief of Police for the City of Brawley prior to returning as Chief of the El Centro department in 2022.
