(Salton Sea milestone to be celebrated)...A celebration and tour is being led by the State.

California's Salton Sea Management Program is celebrating the filling of the Species Conservation Habitat Project East Pod Expansion at the Southern end of the Salton Sea. In a ceremony and tour of the project site, leaders will share more about the progress achieved and the importance of this milestone for the Sea and its surrounding communities. The event will be held Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:30 mam at the Species Conservation Habitat Project site, 6098 Poe Road near Brawley. Several state and local dignitaries will be there and and federal officials are also expected.
