(The latest DEA Take Back Day)....The Drug Enforcement Administration hosts two Take Bake Days every year.
The latest was in April. A Take Back Day is when residents clean out their medicine cabinets of unneeded and expired medications. They are deposited at a designation Take Bake location. During the 28th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the DEA safely disposed of 620,000 pounds of unused medications. In April nearly 4,50 law enforcement agencies assisted the DEA in making Take Back Day another success. Since it inception 16 years ago, the DEA has helped Americans safely remove nearly 19.8 million tons of expired, unwanted or unused medications from their homes.
