The number of incoming students at theImperial Valley College Nursing program has doubled.

A record numb of nursing students will begin training at IVC in the Fall Semester. The new semester will have 60 entry-level RN students, an increase from 30. There will be 20 LVN-to-RN bridge students and 26 entry-level LVN students. According to Daniel Ortiz, Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health at IVC " This expansion represents a transformative step for our program and the regional healthcare system." To reach a broader applicAnt pool, IVC has extended recruiting efforts in Yuma, Coachella Valley and the San Diego region. IVC has received approval of the Board of Registered Nursing and the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office to remove the requirement that placed a time restriction on needing to have taken a recent science pre-requisite. IVC's nursing application program will be extended through April 30, 2025.
