The General Services Administration, at the direction of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has begun notifying landlords that they will be terminating hundreds of leases nationwide for offices and buildings for federal agencies.

On the list of potential closures is the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) office in El Centro. The recently released list of closures shows that the El Centro IRS lease is expected to be cancelled in August of this year. At this point no other Imperial County buildings or offices are on the DOGE list.
