Strong gusty winds dominated the first weekend of the California Mid-Winter Fair.
The gates opened at 3:00 p.m.Friday and the fun continued trough Saturday and Sunday. Winds were consistent in the 20 to 25 miles per hour range with gusts at 45 miles per hour on Saturday and 40 miles per hour on Sunday, limiting crowds to the annual event. This years schedule will see three weekends of the fair with Mondays and Tuesdays dark.
The National Weather Service (NWS) says, by Tuesday the winds will subside but return Wednesday night through Thursday before slowing down by Friday and next weekend. Temperatures are forecast to be in the low to mid-seventies.
