(IID issuing a scam alert)....IID says customers are reporting fraudulent scams.

The Imperial Irrigation District says customers are reporting getting calls from scammers. In many cases the scammers are posing as utility representatives attempting to contact IID customers, over the phone, in person or through email. They threaten to cut off customers electricity if they don't provide financial information. The IID says if your account is delinquent you will be notified by mail, before your account is turned off for non-payment. If scammers contact you, don't give out any information. Contact the IID to verify the status of your account.
