The Imperial County Board of Supervisors met this week and took action on several items.
The Board approved Agricultural Benefit Program Grants to support initiatives promoting agricultural eduction and safety. A grant of up to $150,000 was awarded to the Imperial County Farm Bureau to support the Burn a Bale Go to Jail Committee. The Imperial High School Future Farmers of America was awarded a grant of up to $120,000 to foster agriculture education and leadership development for students.
The Board approved a resolution for the submittal of an application for the California Energy Commission for the Geothermal Grant and Loan Program and ratified a letter of support for the Geothermal Outdoor Park Initiative.
The Board also recognized Raqual Leal, Administrative Manage for the Sheriff-Coroner's Office, as the Employee of the Month for December 2024.
