(Shooting reported from Slab City)...County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene.

The Deputies found the body Christmas Eve at the location known as the Library. They say, however, it did not appear the person had been shot. An official with the Sheriff's office said the person appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and head. Witnesses were interviewed and a person of interest was identified. That person could not be found at last report. Officials said the person is not considered a suspect, yet.
