( El Centro Citty Council Reorganizes)....A special meeting was held late last week.

As expected, the Council named Tomas Oliva the new Mayor. Outgoing Mayor Sylvia Marroquin turned the Gavel over to Oliva. Council member Sonia Carter was named Mayor Pro Tem. The newly elected council members, Marroquin, John Ellett and Claudia Camarena took the oath of office. Outgoing council member Martha Cardenas Singh stepped down. Singh had been elected to the County Board of Supervisors District 2 in November
