A trio of burglars were caught in the act.

The three would be Grinches were captured stealing Christmas presents from a Calexico home. Calexico Police responded to the report of a burglary in progress in the 200 block of Sterling Court after an elderly resident called police after noticing intruders in her home. The three had kicked in a back door and were stealing the family's Christmas gifts. Officers were able to stop the three as they attempted to  escape in a passing taxi. Officers detained the three and located multiple bags of stolen property. During the investigation, officers were able to find another home, in the 1200 block of Rockwood, that had been burglarized and the trio is also suspected of being involved in a third burglary, this one at a home in the 1700 block of Elena Drive. The three would be Grinches were booked into Imperial County Jail on a variety of charges.
